Decisions
ElderLife can assist families and individuals as they sort out the differences among the various care options, including assisted living, adult day care, in-home care and nursing home care. We can help you understand and complete Medicare and Medicaid forms, Social Security, nursing home applications and other complex paperwork. We are available to accompany you on site visits to various elder care facilities and will present you with a list of direct questions to ask the administrators of the facilities. We can set up systems for the payment of bills and help you track expenditures. We can aid you in reviewing past financial transactions to identify critical account information you will need. Our staff has personal experience with the guardianship process and guardianship reporting and can get you started on preparing power of attorney and health care directive forms. ElderLife personnel are well-equipped to handle non-traditional family situations and structures.
